LOC V-2 was our first sport scale kit. It's designed around LOC's BT-7.51 to obtain a practical 8.47:1 scale. As seen as the Bumblebee V2 in the Dude Perfect Rocket Battle 2 video!

7/9/2018 - The V2 update is complete! The kit now features a 98mm central motor mount. The system is like our MMAS for our other 7.5" kits but we have a challenge with the boat tail. We solved this with forward retention. Plus the fact now it can be clustered with 3 38mm or adapted down to 75mm, 54mm or even a 38mm. The kit will be shipped stock with the 98mm plus we'll throw in a 54mm adaptor.

If that's not enough, we're also tossing in a 7.5" RNWS Removable Nose Weight System. NOW this is top of the charts for LOC being one of the most modular kits on the market. All of this at no additional cost. The price stays the same as it has been for years. Fly J to M, you now have the tools to make this a stable rocket for whatever motor you choose :-) RNWS-Instructions

Additional motor adaptors can be purchased here

This will be a relatively straight-forward build for the experienced L2 or L3 rocket builder once you figure out how ingeniouslyly everything fits together. It is a very adaptable, well designed rocket kit. There were no surprises or gray areas, which is always nice. The folks that designed the new-wave at LOC really understand what it takes to fly efficiently.

Lots to love with both the RNWS and MMS systems. They work in concert for real-time adjustment to any type of motor configuration you might want to fly. Unlike most stubbies that you have to build with enough nose weight to stabilize anything you “might fly in it someday”, the LOC system gives you an impressive number of weight / motor options. Since 2 cartridges can fit in the NC (use an empty coupler as a spacer when flying with one), I figure by making up 3 cartridges in 16 oz intervals, I can fly anything that won’t shred the fins.

The LOC unit will make a very flexible flyer and won’t take a complete flight crew. You’ll able to use smaller motors, bigger motors and heavy clusters successfully and interchangeably. The one thing it does need is an internal avionics bay, so you’ll either have to fly motors with ejection charges or make your own. I’ll be laying-up one with some fiberglass, or perhaps I’ll just 3D print one, basically a box that holds a timer and battery, that will fasten to the internal MMAS forward retainer. More likely, I’ll just have a ball with 3 X 38 mm CTI’s.

Kudos to the folks at LOC!
