PK-1 4/8/2010 Douglas Paroff "I wasn't sure that I was going to use the little aliens, but my girls convinced me that I absolutely had to use them.  As of the moment, the yellow fin is undecorated and will likely stay that way."
4/8/2010  Scott Terrell "Thanks for letting me try these out, they inspired the rebirth of a great rocket"
4/8/2o10 Vince Leonardi Prefer Transfer Paper version-  for larger decals yes-  makes it easier for alignment
Prefer to purchase separately?  Not on smaller kits, on large diameter kits where would increase kit cost make an option.
Prefer we include in kit and raise price a bit?
Yes on smaller diameter kits- say up to 4 inch diameter.. Larger an option.

I like the decals, very vibrant , professional looking and easy to use...very pleased...

5/17/2010 Tommy Lazo "This is the first loc precision rocket I’ve built, and let me say it was a joy to build. The quality of the rocket is a+. The peal and stick eco safe decals were easy to put on. Just follow the direction and you can go wrong!"
PK-3  2/20/2010 Rick Mitchell  "I used the reverse release decals and I really liked how easily they went on."

5/18/2010 Mike Nipper "Decals were fairly easy to apply, no real problems there. Fin decals did
not quite cover the entire fin, but this particular rocket was built in
1993.
Might be a little difference in dimensions over the years. I just masked
off the finished decals, and hit the fin edges with a light coat of
medium yellow.
Would probably be easier to paint the fins yellow before applying the
decals."

Applying the decals is really easy. They are of a good thickness, hence, not fragile. I was able to put one down and remove it without tearing it. I also tried with soapy water and this is definitely the best way to go. Once the decal is applied, you can easily move it around by gently rubbing in the direction you want to move. You’ll also notice that me being a rail guide adept, I did not use the bottom tube and the launch guide.

“Overall Appearance
The Quality of the Decals was Superior
Colors in the Large Starburst Decal Really Stand Out
Ease of Application, Both Transfer Tape and Peel & Stick
Three different options for main Starburst Decal.”

Dislikes:
“The small fin Starburst decals were a bit to big for my taste, I think they would look better if positioned horizontally.
Also the background color on the smaller decals limited me on their use or the paint scheme for my rocket.  I would like to see the smaller decals printed on a clear vinyl.  That way they will look fine despite my paint scheme.”

"Barry - here is the Tristar with decals. It looks awesome!

I used the reverse apply and peel back decals.

The tristar logo is just a tad long on both ends to where i have to fold into the tube on both ends - just a little lie a 1/4 inch. however to be perfect it needs to be shortened."

PK-32 8/10/2010 Chad Rogers "Finished up the Forte' yesterday, with favorable results. I applied all of the vinyl dry, due to the small size of the graphics. Everything layed out very nicely, only one thing could have made it easier. That being if the name graphic and the upper airframe wraps were one piece.  I think having the white strips between the details of the upper wraps printed silver would also be a nice addition, since it's printed anyway.
All in all, I think it came out very nice"

5/22/2010 Michael Conlon DOC o LOC says this is the most difficult and unwieldy decal set ever produced and it will be changed, however Michael had mixed results.

"The decals for the fins went on fine with good results. Attaching the edge of the decal ro the fin/body tube edge first and working out from this point worked well. The Lil' Diter decal went on fine also with no problems."

5/18/2010 Mike Nipper "Rocket was finished in the
suggested red and gold paint scheme. The decals were very easy to apply,
no problems noted.
Only suggestion is to print the "Stovi" decal and the yellow stars on
gold colored vinyl if possible. This would better fit the paint scheme."

PK-46 5/17/2010 Sandy Houston  Overall, I think the quality and printing are excellent. Application is
easy as well.

"Sandy had some good comments about the flame pattern being painted on black background - we may remove the black and just have the flames in the future.  His set was not on reverse paper so he had some fun applying the Bullet decal.  Now they all have reverse paper for ease of installation." DOC

"I was issued the peel & stick version of the decals. The smaller ones were very easy to apply. The larger body-wrap graphics were difficult to line up, even when wetting the rocket airframe surface. I finally got them positioned close to where I wanted them....I think the graphics are sick! They really put a finishing touch on the models."

"One of the nice things about the decals for the HDB is that they cover the fins so as to eliminate sanding the grain for a smooth finish.

The vinyl is a huge step up from the inkjet and adhesive paper used on my previous LOC kits. They are durable, water resistant and

if applied properly the edges do not curl. If you are going to spend the time building this beauty, do yourself a favor and spring for the

decals to dress it up properly."

PK-50    Tom Raffino

"I just wanna say WOW! The decals

really make this rocket, super simple and clean. As long as you follow the directions and take your time the rocket will turn out great! I had no problems with the reverse transfer decals, I used plenty of water and made sure to pre-lay out all my decals before I started applying. I couldn't be more happy. Thank you for providing me with such an awesome opportunity to test these decals out and show off the new pride of my rocket fleet! Thanks again! "

"Both the reverse release and peel/stick decals were easy to use with the water + soap method.I preferred the reverse release because it was possible to anchor a corner of the xfer paper with a finger and rotate to align before smoothing down and working any bubbles out.

The stickers that covered entire wing/fin were just the right size if there is no beveling, else they are a little big. I chose to bevel fins and trim decal edges slightly to avoid sticker "flaps" from popping up later. I suppose some finishing epoxy on forward edges would have done the trick as well.

Can't wait to fly the Cruiser! it is a classic Sport Rocket design and stickers add a lot to the finished appearance."
